Top ten best and worst retail companys

We all shop at retail stores, however, some of them aren't the best. Here's a list of stores that you should buy from, all of them that have a C- or above anyways.

Tax breaks, tax breaks, and more tax breaks!

Every year the people who have the most money and the most power don't have to pay as much for their taxes. Taxes are what primarily run our economy, they help to create new buildings and new jobs for everyone in America. However, we can't build more buildings and more jobs if the people with the most money, the people who can help us the most, are selfish and only thinking about their best interests, not the best interests of America. I implore those people who decide they don't want to pay so much for taxes, to pay it, it will make our economy better and we'll finally be able to get out of our economic depression.

Although this is an issue, it shouldn't be soon. Next year President Obama will start making the rich pay more rather then less, you will get taxed more or less depending on your class. Instead of getting tax breaks for having as SUV you will get them for having a Hybrid. The only problem I see with this plan is that some people's class will be determined unfairly. For example, I am middle class but own a largish house and 7.5 acres. This will classify us as upper class for taxes and we will get taxed more. I do still believe in this new plan, the rich should pay their fair share.

Which are good, which are bad?

Below I will add some pictures from http://www.betterworldshopper.org that show rankings in environmental safety, wage, and things like health care.

When you are shopping or traveling, even eating. Consider these charts.

Steeltown

Steeltown by Big Country tells about working in factories in the UK. How hard the labor was, and how little people working there made. Not only did they make near nothing, but they had horrible health issues that were not covered by the companies. Now even though you think we have moved on, this still happens in America and The UK. But it mostly occurs in third world countries where it is easier for the businesses to function.

Steeltown lyrics:

Here I stand with my own kin

At the end of everything

Finaly the dream has gone

I've nothing left to hang upon

I came here with all my friends

Leaving behind the wait of years

Leaving alone in a flood of tears

Out on a prospect that never ends

All the landscape was the mill

Grim as the reaper with a heart like hell

With a river of boddies

Flowing with the bell

We built it all with our own hands

But who could know we built on sand

But now it's barren all to soon

There's no miracle in ruin

We set the flame and it burned so blue

With open eyes I watched it grow

A sea of palms in an ocean of snow

Hands with the corage to start anew

Here was a home for the lost and scared

Out of the yards and dry docks

The call of the steel that would never stop

There was a refuge for those who dared

In a steeltown

When the heat's on

I went down

And the heat turned on me

Here I stand with my own kin

At the end of everything

Finaly the dream has gone

I've nothing left to hang upon

In a steeltown

When the heat's on

I went down

And the heat turned on me

The Simpsons (Smoking)

This isn't exactly economics, but it is political humor!
And it does effect our economy in ways.
I think homer gets out a good point.

Current Screw Up

As we have all probably noticed, we are in a horrible economic downfall. Now... Who have we had in office for eight year...? Yes, W! Wonderful president, Darth Vader and Lord Citheis. Although I would not blame it entirely on them, they did continue a war that is still draining our money, they did get too greedy, they did nearly kill EPA standards on multiple occasions, and they did give tax breaks to people with SUV's, oh how the list goes on... CEO's and large business in general played even a larger part then them, they moved and unimployeed god knows how many people, they pollute massivly, and they take all of our money because they are "too big to fall" whatever that is supposed to mean, I would rather stick with "the bigger they are, the harder they fall."

OMG Economics!

This blog, from the makers of "OMG!" Is to focus on economics in our amazing way. Like the OMG! blog we will try to be funny but focus on important issues. Though I don't really know if our political jokes are as good as our girly act, guess we'll have to see. (We're doing this as an action project for school). Hope you like it.
